I never got into black metal when I used to make an effort to listen to older bands, so I didn't know these things. Black metal is one of the genres I've gotten into kinda backwards, so I made the effort to dl Darkthrone's discog.
This is what I was expecting to hear last night. It would've been cool if they coulda kept the good production of Soulside Journey on their black metal releases. This album doesn't sound too bad though.
