If it half as good as the Wall, it will be worth going to....i think this is gonna be really cool
Sully Erna hits the road in May, this time without Godsmack. Erna is touring his solo album Avalon, released to critical acclaim last year and he says that the shows, featuring an eight-piece ensemble will be very different from the blood and thunder of the Godsmack experience.
“I’m very excited to bring Avalon to the road…It’s a trip down the rabbit hole into a world of beautiful scenery, world cultures and amazing cinematic visuals that will leave you breathless at times.”
In a recent interview with 89x Radio Erna looked forward to the tour which is sandwiched between Godsmack appearances and kicks off in Concord on May 13
“It’s very cool, it’s an eight piece band, a musical experience versus a rock show, and intricate musical experience, like back in the day when Pink Floyd did the Wall.
“That’s what we’re hoping to accomplish – really have people become aware of how important music is in our lives.
“It’s very emotional, detached from everything I’ve done with Godsmack. Powerful – in a mystical kind of way”
Avalon took Sully two years to compose and produce and is a major deviation from his work with Godsmack, utilizing a mix of classical instruments and tribal rhythms and chants

I can't picture James Hetfield singing anything off Sully's solo album
I found it humorous that Sully is also comparing an upcoming tour to The Wall.
“I’m very excited to bring Avalon to the road…It’s a trip down the rabbit hole into a world of beautiful scenery, world cultures and amazing cinematic visuals that will leave you breathless at times"
All in all, they both just want to rip off the wall.
