How do you record distortion on an audio interface? I don't play obviously, but having the audio interface, I want to be educated. My recording software, Cubase, has basic distortion, but it's not too good, and from what I understand, you NEVER plug a Guitar into an amp for distortion, and then into the audio interface, so how is distortion achieved when recording?

you can use a POD type thing. My Line 6 has a POD output, so i plug my interface into that, and use the AMPS distortion. You can buy a separate POD, and plug that into the amp, and that into the interface, and that should work

you need a pedal or stompbox of some sort.

I know nothing about recording stuff....I just have a distortion pedal lol
