I do actually, Louis Armstrong is an example of everything you shouldn't do while singing, but he could write songs, unlike Cocker.

louis armstrong plays jazz trumpet, he hardly ever wrote lyrics to any songs, he mainly covered other peoples work when he dealt with songs. so hes 'songwriting' clearly did not 'save' him because he didnt do it really at all. name me the great songs over the years that louis armstrong wrote, go ahead. your talking out your ass. secondly, his voice is great because it has character and soul, something most of your "talented" singers dont have. he might not be technically sound or cant hit notes but hes a great singer with a tremndous vocal legacy to alot of people. so once again i have to conclude that you have no idea what your talking about

I don't know much by him, and I didn't know he covered those songs, I know he is a good trumpet player, which immediately makes him a better artist than Joe Cocker, because he didn't do shit but cover Beatles songs.

They sound like they would be death metal singers now, and I already hate most death metal because of the vocals alone.

well if you hate singers that explore differences with their voice that arent consistent with the vocal norms then you must also hate jimi hendric cuz he did the exact same thing just with a guitar

I hate horrible vocalists, you are making a horrible argument based on nothing but bullshit.

There is a difference between expirimenting, and having a horrible voice.

not really, you cant comprehend that someone who cant hit the notes and arent vocally sound can be a great vocalist. in which case you would be dead wrong. alot of people, not you obviously, appreciate singers who dont sound like everyone else and have there own unique style that may not stay consistent with vocal talent

I don't see how you can claim to be defending them saying they expirement when you don't like Unexpect and Sleepytime Gorilla Museum, which actually have talented vocalists but don't sound like anyone else, you just don't like anything with talent.

    Johnny Cash
    Howlin Wolf
    Louis Armstrong
    Dire Straits
    The Clash
    Steve Earle
    The grateful Dead
    Joni Mitchell
    Captain Beefheart
    the rolling stones
    black sabbath

Jimi Hendrix has not so great vocal abilities? Are you high? He was arguably a better singer than he was a guitarist.

Don't argue with me about vocals, I'm an actual singer and know the difference between good and bad unlike most other people.
