Alright, well since I'm already talking about it and my posting bug for my laptop is gone, I may as well explain my reasoning to the best of my ability.
Wall-E was not a BAD film. But it was certainly the weakest Pixar animated film.
When I see a Pixar movie, I like seeing the very apparent creative things they do regarding interactions between characters and the environment. For example, in A Bug's Life, they had the queen's "dog" as an aphid... the only thing considerably smaller than an ant that would fit the role well. Flick's invention was a rolled up blade of grass with a water droplet in it to simulate a mini telescope. The "city" was made up of old food containers. One of the "homeless" residents was an insect (I don't recall which type) with a sign that said "kid pulled off my wings." Lots of small, creative stuff everywhere. I loved it.
Same sort of thing went for the Toy Story series, Finding Nemo, and Monsters Inc.
Wall-E? I noticed very few such instances. And the storyline? A depressed nigger-rigged robot who befriends a high-tech robot who he nearly kills because he introduces her to organic matter. When the humans are finally revealed, they're all fat and transported from place to place only by machines.
