My problem with the Chili Peppers album was that when the new guitarist wasn't playing funk rhythms he was playing what sounded like stuff I would play. But I understand its appeal.
That's the same problem me and my uncle had with the new RHCP. They need to let the new guitar player play what we wants and new shit and that album would be better.
I'm not really into shinedown. Only know what I've heard on the radio years ago however when they played at rock on the range I enjoyed them live. Still would never buy one of their CDs but I'd probably see them live again

It just sounds like he is setting up to play a lead in the studio, either that or he can't put together a lead for shit.
