The Detroit Red Wings have signed goaltender Jimmy Howard to a six-year extension, the team announced Tuesday afternoon.
The terms of the deal were not officially released but previous reports indicated the deal would carry an annual average value of $5.3 million, which would pay Howard around $31.8 million over the course of the agreement.

I will actually see some of these games now. I've never even seen the Winter Classic because I have no interest in watching a regular season hockey game on Jan 1, when there are bowl games on, but now I will be watching these. That is assuming they aren't on the same dates as some NFL playoff games or something, which knowing the NHL they will be.
