Same thing happened to Absu. They had a Death Metal sound and now it's straight Black Metal.
First couple years thy were together? Yes. That basically ended after Vempire. You could say that when they did Cruelty they were but that's a big stretch.
No, the first couple years they were together they were Death Metal. Midway through they were Black Metal and now they're Extreme Metal.
Not once have I ever heard of this, heard it in their shit, or even have heard this stated. I have never considered them death metal, I don't think they themselves have, or any fan. They do still get called black metal which pisses me off because thy aren't. I can get why their early early bs could be said to be death..because Dani didn't know wtf he was doing vocal wise because he wasn't used to it. Where else this death metal is coming from beats me..
Well that's interesting. Usually I've noticed bands progress more into their genre over time sorta like slayer did from their first album to full on thrash with reign in blood. Or slowly change from one genre to the next like slipknot did from nu-metal to sort of metalcore-ish
I tried to explain to him something before, he wanted an example and I didn't have one. Now I do, so I used it. If he goes apeshit...I'm ignoring him forever more because he's a..idk. No word exists yet.

I've listened to their horrible demos..and the only thing death metal to me is the shitty vocals. I don't really care what MA says, they aren't all metal gods..
