Man khabib gave him a chance. He actually engaged him in a fist fight. Once khabib decided to bring him down the fight was over in seconds.

No one was beating Khabib, so its actually kind of nice he retired. Now we can see a bunch of competitive fights for the strap at 155 instead of a bunch of lopsided victories for khabib.

I think he might come back. MJ retired for the same reason and came back. He jus needs time to mourn. Although it may be more serious/definite for Khabib cause of Islam.
