Does any one know how to solve this differential equation?
A spherical ice-cream ball of initial diameter 12 cm melts at a rate that is proportional to its surface area.
At this diameter it is melting at a rate of 6 cm/min.
Write the differential equation to model this situation.
Find its solution.
And predict when the ball will all be melted.

Surface area of a sphere = 4*pi*r^2. You know diameter, so subbing in D/2 for r gives you
SA = pi*D^2
At t = 0, dD/dt = -6 and D(0) = 6....hmm.
