RIP to a real one. Behemoth is still the heaviest synth album ever made but he's just out of ideas at this point
Again, I love Possessor and Non Paradisi but those felt like more natural progressions. Synthwave mixed with black metal worked for him. Ditching both for a pseudo post-punk/goth/industrial thing is just "meh".
Giving it a first listen... its VERY different. There's a few tracks with some semblance of synthwave in there. But for the most part its a black metal/industrial/goth/new wave fusion album (its less synthwave than the latest Perturbator, for context). I feel it's one of those I will need to listen to a few times and let digest before I decide how much I like it or not.
New Gost has been growing on me. I finally got on CD so I can listen in the car, and after about 6 repeat listens, its growing on me. Instead of a synthwave album with goth/industrial/black metal elements, its a goth/industrial/black metal album with synthwave elements...
So while I may have wanted Possessor mixed with Behemoth 2.0, this new album isn't bad. Just different and took some warming up to.
Yeah i heard a track on youtube from the new album and it was kind of flame. More black metal but i dont mind that stuff. But the whiny goth stuff i dont like so much. But I'll give the full album a listen soon
Finally listened to the new Gost. Such a weird album. Half black metal, half goth industrial. I loved some tracks and hated some others. I liked it better than i thought i would though
