(NewsCore) - A 100-year-old Walmart greeter in Milwaukee, Wis., was recovering Monday but planning to get back to work after an angry customer pushed her, injuring her head, the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel reported.

The centenarian, Lois Speelman, was pushed Sunday by a 37-year-old customer who became upset that the greeter was checking that she paid for the water bottles in her shopping cart.

The irate customer was arrested and police were investigating the attack.

Speelman hit her head and was taken to a local hospital where she underwent a CAT scan and was released. She told the paper she was bruised and sore after the incident but planned to return to work Thursday.

Speelman, who has been widowed twice since she started her job at the retail giant 10 years ago, told the paper she works at Walmart five days a week because she needs the money. She celebrated her 100th birthday at the store in August.

She described previous run-ins with customers, who were rude but never violent.

"You get a lot of customers who are not out to hurt you, but they always give you a bad time," she told the paper.
