Anyone else have internet through Time Warner/Roadrunner??

If you do, do you use a cable modem provided by them?
I have been having issues connecting to the Playstation Network for the past 2 weeks. I am able to surf the internet and when i do the connection test I get an IP and internet connection, but I am no able to sign into the PSN due to the connection "timing out".
I have had this problem off and on and normally just turning off and on our Netgear router, but it isn't working anymore. I have been searching around and can't figure out what to do.
Anyone have any ideas?

There is no need to tell me how other gaming consoles are better or that I should just sell my PS3.

NH did of Roadrunner at one time but then Comcast bought them out.

Comcast did have some major issues yesterday with service.

Wow...my fucking apartment manager is soo dumb haha. When we moved in back in August before the Fall semester started I asked her if we needed any equipment from Time Warner for the internet and she said no it was all set up. So when I got here there was an ethernet plug and cable outlet. So we had just been using those. Well the internet has been really slow lately and I did their speed test and was only getting like .7 MBPS connection. I was like ok wtf something is up. Well turns out that bitch forgot to mention to us we needed a modem...Just ran the connection test and got 22 MBPS. I am pleased.
