Well, on this board, whenever someone refers to "State" they typically mean Michigan State. Just like how people from Texas refer to Texas Tech as simply "Tech", whereas those in the southeast would associate "Tech" with Georgia Tech. Same goes for both USC's, etc.

EDIT: There's just a ton of Michigan peeps on this board.
