thats the only thing the lions have done consistent all year...getting turnovers

They allow 24 ppg man. That's really bad.

I just don't see teams like the Patriots, who have no bright spots aside from Mayo and Arrington on D making too much noise, even as the #1 seed. It's surprising how little of a fight the rest of that division put up.

Honestly the former defensive player in me wants to see SF and Baltimore or Pittsburgh in the SB, but I really just think the league, especially this year, is such a passing friendly, offensive league, that it will be GB or NO vs NE.

Turnovers are more important statistical representation of defensive quality than something like yards per game.

Ppg and turnovers. That's what it's about. They forced the most turnovers and allowed 15 ppg. Their defense played great.
the patriots have a fantastic turnover ration and has a decent ppg against..

You know why Brees gets MVP over Rogers?

Besides the fact that Brees destroyed Dan Marino's single-season passing yards record, and also broke NFL records for completions in a season, and completion percentage in a season. These things make it easy to argue that Drew Brees' 2011-2012 regular season was the best season that a quarterback has ever had. And if it's the best season any quarterback has ever had, surely it merits this season's MVP award. However, why Brees over Rogers?

    1. Brees had significantly more passing yardage than Rodgers: 833 yards on the season.

    2. Brees had more completions, more attempts, threw for more first downs, and had more completions for 20 yards or more.

    3. Completion percentages: Brees, 71.2 percent; Rodgers, 68.3%.

    4. Rodgers has a better supporting cast.

    5. Since Matt Flynn was able to be so successful for the Packers, Aaron Rodgers must be a product of the Packers system, racking up huge numbers only because of the offensive scheme and players around him. Okay... this one might be a little silly, but one could make the argument.

"Eagles chairman Jeffrey Lurie said coach Andy Reid will return for his 14th season in Philadelphia, though he left open the possibility for changes on the coaching staff."

Shut the fuck up. I'd rather have retarded owners and have mild success than not smell the playoffs for so long as the 49ers did.

I'm sick of everyones boo hooing. Even the bengals fans around here. There are other teams that have it worse or that have had it worse. Especially when it comes to the eagles. You've been to the super bowl and your team has either been in or had a shot at the playoffs how many times the last ten years? I'm getting tired of the bengals fans as well because they act like we are still in the 90's. Since Marvin has been around we have had a losing record 3 times I believe been in the playoffs 3 times. I think of that as fairly successful.
You tryin to be a hero fool? You wanna see badass mother fucker?! I'll show ya a badass!!!

    9. They were one and done in 2002. Besides, it's not like I was saying that the 49ers fans had the most to complain about, I was saying that the Eagles have had sustained moderate success for the last decade and George is still complaining. C'mon man.

It's tiring to talk about your nearly 20 year old dynasty and nearly nothing afterward. It's not the best argument.

200 new posts....nice. I entered this thread just to see George's reaction to the Eagles keeping Reid. Not sure why he or Norv Turner still have jobs. I guess there are other presidents who make poor decisions..

I don't know that I buy into the 'You can't win a Super Bowl without a good defense' argument anymore, just as I'm not sure that you need to run the ball to win a Super Bowl anymore. The three teams most picked to win the Super Bowl can't run to save their lives and have average to downright bad defenses.....

As for the Lions.....I think they can give the Saints a good game. I don't expect them to win, but I want to see them play well at least. They've got nothing to lose.
