i also (never really talked about it) liked dalton going into the draft...and they got great value for him...i liked him a hell of a lot more then ponder or gabbert...i never really understood why he went as low as he did...TCU i guess
Size and arm strength indicated a low ceiling. But any person who isn't named Mel Kiper or Todd McShay can tell you those measurables don't make a quarterback prospect bad. Look at Brady.

Coming out of college he was. Scouts questioned his ability to put on weight and keep it on at the NFL level, and playing at that weight was dangerous.
It's still too early to say that the Bengals got a steal in Dalton or the Titans, Vikings, Jaguars, etc. screwed up in passing on him. That determination will be made in a few years. Cam Newton could still turn out to be a bad pick.
