You all complain about Brady looking for calls from the refs but no one is complaining about Rodgers selling the facemask and then looking for a call from the ref and getting it?
Selling a hold or facemask is different than walking up to the refs after every play and crying like a little bitch.
rodgers was walking up to the refs complaining a lot last night
seen him do it at least 2-3 times. I don't care about that really...its always happened with the stars in every sport. Miggy challenges the umps strike zone almost every game. Hes the only player in the game i really see get away with it. Star players get away with shit like that.
what i don't understand is how 2 refs who cant see the play throw flags, but the ref who is closer and looking directly at it doesn't throw anything.
Like they didn't even huddle up and talk...the refs should have at least talked it out.
well dude....wouldn't you be? like seriously look at that pic...do you disagree that the refs should have at least huddled up and discussed what each one of them saw?
I still haven't seen the actual facemask play in person but I talked to like three people today who are objective towards both teams and they all said it was a facemask
Rule 12, Section 2, Article 5 of the NFL Rule Book (page 81) states that “no player shall twist, turn, or pull the face mask of an opponent in any direction.”
The Rule Book describes the penalty as follows:
“Penalty: For twisting, turning or pulling the mask: loss of 15 yards. A personal foul. The player may be disqualified if the action is judged by the official(s) to be of a flagrant nature.”
The Rule Book describes an approved ruling as it relates to face-mask penalties (page 81).
“A.R. 12.12 – Third-and-10 on A30. Runner A1 runs to the A33, where he is tackled by B1, who incidentally grasps A1’s face mask on the tackle, but it is not a twist, turn or pull. Ruling: A’s ball, fourth-and-seven, on A33. No foul.”
i don't here what this guy says but if you go to about 40 seconds it shows it clearly. It clearly shows there was no grab, twist, turn or pull of the facemack from the finger that touched it.
they removed the 5 yard penalty some years ago for this exact reason. its either a clear pull and a penalty or it isn't.
Two refs that could not see the his facemask threw flags. The ref looking clearly at it threw nothing.
“If a player grasps an opponent’s facemask, he must immediately release it. If he does not immediately release it and controls his opponent, it is a foul.”
well his pointer finger makes contact with his facemask. But as the rule states you are allowed to touch the facemask. What your're not allowed to to is close your hand and grasp the facemask. If you touch the fasemask and immediately let go it is not a penalty.
