ATLANTA -- New England Patriots defensive tackle Vince Wilfork has a torn right Achilles tendon and almost certainly is out for the season, the Boston Globe reported.
Vince Wilfork, a key cog for the Patriots, tore his right Achilles in Sunday's win, according to a report.
Wilfork left Sunday night's 30-23 win against the Atlanta Falcons with an ankle injury in the first quarter, limping off the field on the Falcons' first drive of the game and did not return.
He was later taken to the locker room on the back of a cart.

The most shocking win yesterday for me was NE. After they struggled to get to 3-0 against teams like the Bills an the Jets, I thought for sure Atlanta was going to crush them.
The Seahawks need to play better than they did yesterday. MVP Sherman \m/
Now that it's faded away and I can talk about it calmly...
Real talk, Bears ain't doing shit this year. I ain't even mad at the Lions. If y'all couldn't beat us after our absolute fucking joke of a performance yesterday, then your entire team needs to end their life. Lions looked like a well oiled machine and we looked like a pee wee team playing their first game. And let's be real. We're 3-1, but 2 of those wins were against poverty teams, one of those wins being by a single fucking POINT. Against a dogshit Vikings squad. And at that, how good are the Bengals, really? Just got beat by the Browns. So 3 wins against bad to average teams, 2 of those wins won by a collective grand total of 4 points. =D>
The scariest thing is our defense is fucking GONE. No matter how ugly Bears have looked on Offense in past years, the Defense was constantly phenomenal and our one consistent high note that no one could deny. Now we went from 5th to 25th and are allowing an average of 30+ points. The loss of Urlacher and our DC no doubt are huge factors, but I didn't think it'd be THIS bad. There was literally a stretch in yesterday's game where Bush ran like 4-5 times in a row and was gaining 6-9 yards every fucking possession. That woulda been unheard of in past years for this team's defense.
Skip said, this team ain't going anywhere. First round exit at best. Fucking disgusting.
