I don't really blame the playcalling today. Stafford had two horrible turnovers, pass defense was horrid, and special teams were a disaster. A complete failure all around today.
Like lolwut? Get a good deal with Snacks last week and piss it all away today. This team doesn’t want to win and it is very clear
1. Lions got more for Tate than the Broncos did for Thomas. 2. 3rd round pick is more than they would get when Tate would have walked for nothing after the season. They weren't re-signing him, he's 30 years old and whoever gets him will overpay. 3. Snacks is under contract through 2020. He's not a rental. 4. They have an uphill battle to even make the playoffs with or without Tate. It's not about "wanting to win." It's the logical decision. Keeping Tate doesn't fix the damn defense which has been the real problem. 5. Marvin Jones still under contract through 2020, Kenny G still on his rookie deal. They'll be ok there.
