It just sucks. He's the best wide receiver I've ever seen, certainly the best Lion since Barry. That he didn't get a playoff win is criminal. I'd rather see him get a ring with someone else than walk away like this. He might not even be a Hall of Famer at this point.
I know what it's like to watch quality players for your franchise seemingly fade away. Really hard to watch the best player you've ever seen become a memory to the league.
I'll never forget becoming a little kid every time Randy Moss caught a football, but I enjoyed watching Calvin Johnson more than any WR I've seen. He would take over games in a way that no one else in our lifetimes has at any position.
Rex and I were both at the game against Cincinnati when he caught a touchdown on a jump ball over three defenders. Probably my favorite Lions memory at this point to be honest. I saw some awesome games from Barry but I was pretty young.
All these years later and we're still playing this game? I'm not Shane. I didn't wake up one day, see Payton Manning was winning and go "Well, guess that's my team." Being a Cowboys fan was no more of a choice for me than being a Lions fan was for you. This is how I was raised. It's not like I popped up a fan when they won Super Bowls in the 90s. I was a fucking infant. Other than randim memories of the triplets, this team has done nothing but lose as far as my real memory goes. Dave Campo and his three straight 5-11 seasons, that's where it starts for me as an a kid that actually followed my team. So go fuck yourself, really.
I'd rather see him get a ring with someone else than walk away like this.
I know that feeling. It's bittersweet.
Well at least he got a ring. I was happy for Charles Woodson when he got his even though it was for fucking Green Bay of all teams. Calvin deserved better.

That Christmas Eve win against San Diego that clinched a playoff spot in 2011 sticks out though.
I know that feeling.
It's bittersweet.
