Shouldn't be a pro ref if you don't know the rules.
can't argue that. Perhaps he was too busy looking at the line, and not the player. Contact was pretty brief. In general like Jay said it should have been reviewable and then it goes differently. But that isnt reviewable. Im sure it will be in the future but will probably never happen again.
Agreed. Umpiring myself, I can't deny you look at different stuff. Still the call was right in front of them. Unfortunately I'm on the detriot side this time.
All bullshit aside, Seattle should be pretty concerned that they were inches away from losing at home to an injury-depleted Lions team that couldn't move the ball for 58 minutes.
Our defense played pretty well as a whole. Until someone takes the playcalling from Lombardi and they run up-tempo the whole game, the offense is going to lose us games.

Yeah their offense is terrible. Jones should have sacked Wilson on that play before their touchdown and we wouldn't even be talking about this.

Reading the refs reasoning on the call... He thought during live game play that the bat was unintentional. And the rule was specifically targeted towards intentional hitting in the situation where offense and defense are going for the ball so def doesn't have unfair advantage of recovery. If he unintentionally tapped the ball, no penality. Now in slow motion replay it certainly looks like he did intend to tap but can't really fault ref for thinking it as unintentional.
I didn't say it was going to happen. I said it could happen. Sure its unlikely, but its not delusional. We could win all of our home games and beat NO, Chicago, and either KC or St. louis on the road.
We play at home

sure ARI and GB are tough but we have beaten green bay at home the last two years. Arizona isn't as good as they are being made out to be. They beat 3 horrible teams. Still a quality team but not unbeatable especially on the road.
Yes the possibility is slim. This team does have talent doe. we will probably suck and finish at like 8-8 or 7-9 but with our schedule that mistake could be a big deal.
