what in the fuck was matt millen thinking drafting charles rodgers over andre johnson
I'd think as a Michigan guy you'd know how awesome Charles Rogers was at Michigan State. He was a total freak, who was awesome at everything, including taking vicodin. As much as you can blame Millen for taking so many WRs in the top 5, it's not like Rogers wasn't awesome in college.
Yeah he was great in college, but looking at them physically, aside from height, Andre johnson was a specimen while Rodgers looks like a normal guy. I do agree that if Charles had never broken his collarbone and never gotten a hold of Vicodin he would have been good.
To be honest, I have no real memories of watching Andre Johnson in college. I remember watching Charles Rogers when he won the Biletnikoff, I think. It feels like this is the only thing I truly remember coming out of Miami in the early 2000's.
I think Mike Williams was the most egregious of the top 10 wide receiver draft picks, especially considering he had been out of football for a year at that point. To think, we could have DeMarcus Ware or Derrick Johnson (who I was hoping we'd take back then).....
They still have the draft, and assuming they make some decent picks I don't think they're that much worse. I don't see another 10-6 to 4-12 situation here. You choose to focus on who they lost, I choose to focus on what they have.
Holy shit. Darren Sharper got 9 years in prison for rape.
I think the crazier part is he plead guilty. The charges were that he drugged women, and then when they were passed out he raped them. This apparently happened several times that they know about. And he's like "got me. my bad. im guilty of that"

I was reading this article today about how Peterson has told the Vikings he will not be playing in Minn this year, and how the management has said "tough cookies. you are playing". And the article went on to say that Peterson had pretty much no say in the matter. And I kept thinking the entire time reading this, that I could see Peterson doing what Berry Sanders did when he was done playing with a Detroit team who wouldnt do anything to actually try and win a championship other then have him on the roster. I say 75% chance Peterson Retires.
Barry didn't retire cause he didn't want to play for the lions though. He's said many times he had no desire to play elsewhere. He just lost his fire to play the game because of all the losing.
