I honestly don't care. He's not worth 110+ million. If he gets 130 million it will be a worse contract than albert haynesworth. Hes a great player but he plays DT. At the end of the day that position is not going to keep us from winning or losing that many games.
He had one of his most dominate games ever against dallas and we still lost.

And I bet the Lions management is thinking the same thing you are.... 110M 7years best offer. Take it or leave it.
Meanwhile Oakland is like "Fuck. We've got 50+M under salary cap and we have to blow a shit-ton to get to the league minimum. Hmmm... how can we do that. Lets look FA. Ahhh there we go. Lets throw it at Suh cause fuck it. why not? We don't know how to football anyways"
I could see us resigning fairly or going after BJ raji. maybe going after bulaga, and then moving reiffe inside,or going after james carpenter.and going after a CB like chris culliver. Id be happy with some of those moves.

Yeah. And also don't think it is a mistake that the Lions will lose out.
Oakland is just in this weird place where they have to spend a minimum
amount of money or get fined. They are not going to go the fined route
so they can't lose out. Any other year and Detroit probably would have
had a good chance of keeping him.
nah i really don't care if he stays or goes. I don't think it creates nearly the void people are making it out to be. DT's job in our defensive scheme is to keep the linebackers clean so they can make the tackles. Sure SUH is great at Qb pressures but i believe losing him can pretty successfully be schemed around. Hes just not worth the money hes going to command.
Do i want him back? of course. Its just not worth crippling our cap for the next 5 years
The frustrating part of this is this was preventable. Mayhew and Lewand completely screwed up managing Suh's contract. Even if he doesn't really want to be here, they could have used the franchise tag and kept him for one more year had they not built up so much dead money. Also not picking up Fairley's option was stupid.

had he stayed with the Lions, he likely would have retired a nfl HOF with 0 playoff wins
eagles in full trade up for Mariota/rebuild mode
The Philadelphia Eagles have a trade in place to send running back LeSean McCoy to theBuffalo Bills, a source told ESPN NFL Insider Adam Schefter.
In return, the Bills will send linebacker Kiko Alonso to the Eagles, the source said.
Drafted in the second round of the 2009 draft out of Pittsburgh, McCoy has spent his entire six-season career in Philadelphia.
He rushed for 1,319 yards and tallied five touchdowns last season for the Eagles.
The trade can not be made official until the new league year begins next Monday.
i mean alonso is a good player but coming off a year where he didn't play cause of a knee injury.

I still lean towards pay the man his money.
