Can you imagine if the NFL just banned players consuming alcohol.... I mean weed is legal in 2 states, soon to be a shit load more;  Unless you live in the south where they still believe in the existence of some all powerful being who bases admittance into their club by church attendance. Like this God has nothing better to do than roll call.

yeah suspending someone for weed is fucking ridiculous. It should at the very most be a fine. unfortunately  its all politics when it comes to NFL policies.

    D.C too kinda
No.  Any efforts by the District to legalize marijuana will be met by the federal government ending any of its funding in the budget.

The only reason we'd is illegal is because it's more profitable being illegal. The prison industrial complex relies it heavily to keep incarceration rates so high.

It is not more profitable beging illegal =)) =)) =)) =))

prisions have contracts to keep their occupancy rates at 99%. They are going to be full even if 0 people are breaking the law.

Look at colorado. They have more tax money then  they know what to do with.

Whats keeping ing weed from being legal is all the tobacco and alcohol companies lobbying to keep it illegal.

Weed es is worth waaaay more money legal than illegal.

You obviously have no idea how much the government spends of our tax money on the Drug war. Why would they want a percentage of the weed sale money, when they get more in drug war funding then they would in this small cut? Yeah it's more profitable for local government and for the economy... Not for the feds though.

Really I just want weed legalized so that stoners would no longer have anything to talk about. Im tried of having this conversation over and over again. I get it, it shouldnt be illegal. Can we please move on now.

Yeah all that money to fund the drug war is coming from tobacco and alcohol companies :|

Sure there are people in law enforcement and prison unions that wouldn't want it legalized. But they really don't have the power. The real fight is coming from all the prescription drug companies, alcohol, and tobacco.  They are the ones spending the money to fund the war on drugs and lobbying against it.

also "you obviously have no idea"

could you be any more condescending? go fuck yourself old man =))

They give a fuck about your rights if you're in a state, because they can't do anything about it.  DC has no governor, or body that can stand up to the federal government like a state does.  Everybody in the District right now is being taxed without representation.  It's a huge issue here that no one talks about outside of DC.

The federal government is the one spending the money to enforce the laws, so this makes no sense.  It's not in the law enforcement's interest, necessarily, sure.  But the government doesn't want people in prison because they have to spend money on them, they don't get taxes from them or their employers, among other reasons.

Actually, the tobacco industry is a dying lobbying power in Washington, these days.  They are getting legislated out of business.  The alcohol lobby doesn't really care, because it doesn't necessarily affect them directly.  The prescription drug companies haven't quite figured out how it affects them.  They're too focused on making sure Obamacare passes, which is worth billions to them, to care about what 7 states do about marijuana.

Would you accept the White House as a reliable source on what they say they are spending on the Drug war?
