Correct. This is because the actual discussion itself doesnt count as a comment, so on the first page there are 40 comments + the discussion. The "number of posts in the thread" counter DOES count the discussion itself though. So when it says 41, there are really 40 comments + 1 discussion, and the next comment will trigger a page turn.

How does the app work? It can sense when the words "new page" are typed in, or it just gives points to the first person to post on the new page?

you need to indicate that you know you're getting the new page hit. "new page" works, plus some others. it tries to be smart, but also tries to not give credit for accidental calls, like the word "page" several lines down in your post.

Yar. It isn't *that* complicated. I designed it based on observing how you niggers currently call new pages, and tried to make it work for most / all of them, without being too generous. Seems to mostly work alright
