The average keg of beer costs $85.00 and serves 165 glasses of beers, while the average 6-pack costs $6.50. You would have to spend $178.00to equal the amount of beer from a keg. Serving beer from a kegerator saves you $93.00!
I have a kegerator in my apartment, and I will say, if you spend $85 on a keg, you're not getting anything other than Natty Lite. Same thing for 6 packs and $6.5
I just bought a keg of Devil's Backbone Vienna Lager for $189.99 and I probably spend about $10.50 per six pack. A full keg holds approximately 165 12 oz pours (a beer bottle's amount). That means I spend approximately $1.145 per beer, so x6 that is $6.87. So with this kegerator I save way about $3.63 per six pack.
And that's on a fairly high end beer, so I'm sure the savings are actually even better with a Two Hearted.
Usually it goes flat if either don't keep it cold or use a manual pump. If you have a kegerator, it doesn't use a manual pump, so it should stay good for at least two months or so.
