Bitch work while I intern. Sorting shit, taking calls, etc. Once I graduate, I'm hoping to get involved in their PR/promotions department, or with an associated promotions company. There are a lot of opportunities in the Tri-state area compared to here, where everything is in LA. My cousin owns VER. They're a huge fucking company that Michael Jackson rented all of his video and audio tour equipment from, and I'm pretty sure a fair amount of arena bands do the same. In fact, it wouldn't surprise me if Tool rented through them at some point or another because they're stationed in Glendale, CA (outside LA). I'm the only one with music business passion in my family other than him, so that's my backup. Only bad part is that's in Manhattan, and I would rather not make that commute.
Once a few years ago...but it was a random trip from Cali so we didn't do much but walk up and down the strip. Looking for a show and APC is there the Saturday we'll be there :-?
Go to see "O" at the Bellagio Or I will punch you in the nuts
$100 for a limited view ticket...I don't think I could even manage that.
Fair call That is quite expensive but it's a fantastic show
On the way to work this morning there was a car broken down in the middle of the road. After I went around them like every other asshole on the road, I started feeling really bad for not stopping and giving them a helping hand. I thought about that for the next 10 minutes and turned up the death metal to drone out being a shitty person.
Anyways, as I was coming off the freeway off ramp there was another car broken down like right on the off ramp. Naturally everyone was again driving around this mom and her two small children (she had two 3-4 year old kids). Anyways, I parked, walked into my work and snagged the guy who works for me... and we went out and pushed her 300 yards off the off ramp into a private parking lot. Feels good making up for the person I didnt help.
Although thinking back to that first person, they were broken down on a steep uphill road. Even if I stopped to help them, there is likely not much I could have done by myself. No way I could have pushed them uphill. Probably best thing I could have done was block all traffic and then help her/him coast backwards to the side of the road.
Nice work Wake I hate that feeling of "I wish I'd helped that person out but couldn't"

Yeah \m/ It's a horrible feeling. Especially when you stop and put yourself in their shoes... They are having an extremely shitty day. Not only did their car break down but it broke down in traffic. 5 minutes out of your day to give someone whose having a really shitty day a hand, is a pretty small price to pay for making their day just a little better.
To add actual happiness to my relief, Relapse's promotions manager just emailed me to confirm a couple questions and said he's looking forward to me interning with them and to keep them updated on anything regarding it
