My homecoming pep rally had some kind of game thing toward the end where one volunteer from each grade could do something crazy for extra points for this stupid mock-olympics thing.
Freshman: This girl licked the gym floor. Sophomore: Some dude shaved his beard with scissors. Junior: A dude rolled around in ice cream toppings and had his friend lick it off him.
Senior: This dude licked the feet of 4 senior girls, 3 senior guys, and kissed some guy.

I went to two homecomings during high school and both were filled with drama and someone crying
I went to the homecoming rallies my sophomore and junior year, but that's only cuz I couldn't find a way to cut class that day like I did my freshman and senior year.
I wish I would have went to homecoming. There was more to it than that.
The no grinding policy wasn't really a big deal. They way they said "We do not want you pushing your genitals against others," was one of the things that spurred it. Then they refused to play any music that you can find on the local hip hop/pop station. It was all country or Justin Beiber. It was that this point that everyone at the dance sat on the floor. The principal(s) went apeshit saying that it was the students that were ruining it. Once they announced the court, everyone left. It was at that point I went to the semi-homecoming that was just a spur of the moment thing held at a friends house. There's something about one of the principals making a twitter account and saying something, but I can't find what they were talking about.
Oh, and my mom got an automated voicemail saying "Some students have left homecoming early because they could not grind"
yeah we always had spirit week and pep assemblies during homecoming week. they were lame but I enjoyed out of class time. and the teachers played hallway nazi during those times too so it was damn near impossible to skip.
I generally found a way to cut out before homeroom even began. I never got caught for skipping class/school. But they were hallway nazis too during spirit week.
