I'll give GTA that they are fun open world games. But they aren't revolutionary. Their story isn't that great, and it tries to take itself so seriously and ends up being silly. There's no depth.
I honestly think Saints Row is better. Bexause at least its silly on purpose. It knows the players really just play to screw around in open world.
What GTA should do to be interesting again is make like a 20/30s style game. Playing as an Alcapone style mobster. Add in L.A. Noire style story depth, mixed with the unique time setting. Game would be really cool.
And if you've actually ever played on of the Arkham games you'd know their some of the best games out there. They've set the standard for licensed games.
I'm serious....they have what a 12 hour story line....and it's not gripping at all...when I played them I found myself messing around more then caring about knowing how the story ends....it was marginal
Yeah I was in a rush when I said that...I meant they lack a great story..MC said gta lacked a good story and that the Arkham games were some of the best around....I was trying to say they were good but no where near the level he was putting them at...they lack a story that pulls you in and makes you feel emotionally vested in a story...I was trying to point out that the issue he had with GTA games is the same issue with the Arkham games....good but not great
I do believe GTAV has a chance at crossing that bridge though
