I want to play Zelda bad enough I almost took my 3ds to trade into GameStop for the $150 credit towards the switch. I'm being patient though. I'll wait
You tryin to be a hero fool? You wanna see badass mother fucker?! I'll show ya a badass!!!
I thought about going the WiiU route to play it sooner but the more I think about it the more I'd rather just wait and get the switch. I'm also in no big rush as that may very well be the first console I introduce to Jamey I'd rather wait a bit for that.

Early thoughts though: The early shrines are too short and easy. I get they're to get the basic tablet powers, but I wish they were longer. They dont feel like Zelda dungeons - but Im assuming they'll get longer and more difficult as the game goes on. I typically like dungeons and things like more than the open world, so I hope
My only other complaint so far is weapons break way too quickly. They basically only last one fight, and I can see the endgame getting annoying if weapons continually break all the time.
Other than that, Im liking it. Im not annoyed by the open world yet. The combat works. Controls took a while to get used to, but they're fine - still get confused switching between weapons, tablet skills, shields, bows, and arrows though. And overall its fun.
I do wonder how old everyone lives in Zelda though. Link and Zelda are over 100 years old, and they look 20s.
Pretty sure the creator of Zelda has said they don't exist on a linear timeline and that each game is the same story being retold a different way
Yea but in Breath of the Wild they explicitily say Link has been asleep for 100 years, and Zelda has been trying to fight off Ganon's evil during that time, in the meantime.

Ehhh basically the games have no coherent story but a few years ago they decided they wanted them to connect so they made up some 3 timeline bullshit where Gannon suceeded or failed in taking over.
