I'm a big fan of putting college players payment into funds that are payable to them when they leave the NCAA. And it should be meager, too. Something in the range of 3-5k a year.

I've always thought they should be paid on top of the education being paid for with how much money they bring into some of these schools. Anyway I don't think it should be anything ridiculous but I think they should get paid like a normal job that a college student would have. 500 bucks a week or something.
You tryin to be a hero fool? You wanna see badass mother fucker?! I'll show ya a badass!!!

I'm only in favor of paying them in a way that they can't use while they're students, honestly. Give them interest in a fund, contingent upon them doing a few things. If I had my druthers, I'd say contingent upon them graduating. But I know you can't expect students to forgo the draft and things like that.
I agree, they need to be paid, but how? I'm not sure.

A week? Ehh, that's a bit much. If they did pay them, it should be about that per month. That would be around what the students on contract with the military get if I am not mistaken.
Legends and Leaders are no more, as the Big Ten will use geography to determine its new divisions and division names beginning in the 2014 season.
The Big Ten will replace Legends and Leaders with East and West when Maryland and Rutgers join the league in 2014, league sources told ESPN.
The proposed Big Ten West includes the six teams located in the Central time zone -- Illinois, Iowa, Minnesota, Nebraska, Northwestern and Wisconsin -- plus Purdue, sources said.
The proposed Big Ten East includes Indiana, Maryland, Michigan, Michigan State, Ohio State, Penn State and Rutgers.

TIL why the University of Houston uses the "shocker" hand gesture despite being nicknamed the Cougars. On their way to play Texas in Austin, their live mascot lost a toe in an accident with her cage door and the Texas students mocked her by making the hand gesture that was mimicking her injury. The UH fan base and players used it as motivation
