Okay guys, here's the story. A couple of weeks ago, I got a letter from Rockstar. It was basically just telling me that they are aware of my forum, and further action, potentially including a lawsuit will be taken. They also told me some other stuff that I'm a little nervous about saying right now. Certain things in that letter were not allowed to be revealed. They included Lyman's secretary's email, so I emailed her. She said we were okay for the moment, and we will get another message about the matter soon. Well this was apparently the next message. I sent an email to her notifying them that we have removed their logo, so hopefully the matter is closed.

They shouldn't because they don't have the Mayhem word copyrighted, only the distinct logo which is gone. I can see them trying to sue anyway but if you know your shit it won't matter because they'd lose if they were to try. This logo doesn't look anything like the Rockstar one, not even the font so they should stfu about it

My thought is that it doesn't have the actual "Mayhem" logo and it doesn't say "Mayhem Festival". It also says "unofficial". So it'll probably be okay, if not, they'll tell me.

Pretty much this, I think. Using their logo was just short sighted, but there's absolutely nothing stopping you guys from calling yourselves The Mayhem Forums.
