BARRE, Vt.—A Vermont man convicted of masturbating in public is going to prison -- maybe for life.
Forty-nine-year-old Edward M. Johnson, of Barre, who was convicted of two counts of lewd and lascivious behavior for separate incidents that occurred in 2008 at a Montpelier library and a Montpelier soup kitchen.
Johnson, who has six prior felony convictions, was judged to be a habitual offender at his trial. So he got 20 years to life on each count at his sentencing Monday, instead of the five-year maximum normally applicable for the sex charges. The sentences will be served concurrently

I think he should just pay a huge ass fine or something.
i see nothing wrong with the time the judge gave him... to me it says if your going to continue this type of behavior we will keep you off the streets for GOOD.
fine him all you want but i doubt it would deter someone like this
At first, I thought he fired one off onto a guy's windshield who then hit a stoplight pole which fell onto a bus full of special needs kids and exploded, killing them all.
...or something.
