It'll be announced as Leukemia, I think. The survival rate for leukemia is somewhere around 45%...
There will certainly be a bone marrow donor for someone like him though...I hope...
It depends what kind it is though. I know nothing about the disease, but my girlfriends grandma was diagnosed a few years ago. But they said it was a mild case. After a year of treatment she was totally fine, and while she will have Leukemia forever, she doesnt have to treat or worry about it in any way.
I can't think of one off the top of my head for myself, but what about a family member. This may be mistimed, but that's basically what you are saying.
Your brother died today.
-Oh, sucks for him. Everybody dies. What time is CSI on?
A family member is different from some guy in a band that you enjoy. I wish Nergal the best and hope it's nothing serious. He's too young to go but then again, we've lost a lot of people in the business too soon. No one is immortal. If he doesn't make it, I'll be a little sad and I'm glad to say I met him a few times. He's a real nice guy and I made his day once.
But it won't have the same effect if my brother or if my mom died <_>
And that's where I think it's a little different. Erik is what 13? 14? It's not a sin to have an idol, especially at that age. I talk about it like its so different from 17 lol. Some people just deal with things differently I guess.
True, and it also depends one what you've been through and at what age. I lost my grandmother at 12 so I knew what it was like to lose someone then, and I also didn't have any idols. I didn't see a point to it. But what baffles me with Erik, I thought his idol was Inferno. Not Nergal, but whatevs.
