SOUNDGARDEN has announced that it is playing an intimate show at the legendary Vic Theatre in Chicago on Thursday, August 5... and here's your chance to get a couple of tickets.

Click here to sign up as a member of Soundgarden World. Members will be given the chance to purchase a pair of tickets to this once-in-a-lifetime show. If selected, you'll be sent an email with a link to purchase a pair of tickets. If you already have an account, log in and update your profile.

There are a bunch of rules here so read carefully:

* Must be 18 to attend this show. This is not an all-ages show. IDs will be checked at point of entry.

* There will be no hard tickets to this show. All tickets are paperless and will be distributed at will call the day of the show.

* All ticket sales are final. NO EXCHANGE, REFUND, OR TRANSFER of names for these tickets.

* The Soundgarden World member must show government-issued photo identification to collect their paperless tickets. No exceptions.

* Tickets are purchased in pairs (2) only. No single tickets sold.

* Please enter your chance only if you can realistically attend this show. For example, if you live in Slovenia and really, really, really want to go, but there's no frickin' way you're flying all the way to Chicago for the show, don't make it harder for someone who can attend by putting in a request.

Please direct all ticket related questions to tickets@soundgardenworld.com.

Vocalist Chris Cornell, guitarist Kim Thayil, bassist Ben Shepherd and drummer Matt Cameron have been rehearsing in Seattle in recent months as a precursor to their first confirmed reunion performance at Lollapalooza.

Reports of SOUNDGARDEN's involvement in the annual festival had been circulating for a while. That was the first show confirmed by the band since a New Year's Day post by singer Chris Cornell hinted that the iconic Seattle grunge act was getting back together after a split that began in the spring of 1997.

The rest of SOUNDGARDEN's plans, including more shows or a full tour, remain in the dark right now. Drummer Matt Cameron also has commitments with PEARL JAM, of which he has been a member for 12 years.

Cornell recorded three albums with AUDIOSLAVE and three records on his own since SOUNDGARDEN disbanded, but his last solo effort, 2009's "Scream", was blasted by critics and fans for its urban pop production and bombed saleswise.

The other two members of the band, guitarist Kim Thayil and bassist Ben Shepherd, have kept lower profiles, although they and Cameron jammed together last year at a Seattle club.
