Had an interesting night. Talked some things out with some friends. I think everyone my age is depressed and looking for more out of life. Unsure about where their lives are going. I asked myself some hard questions, and I think I need to replan what Im studying for, or at least change the focus as far as career goes. My passion is not lined up with audio engineering, but Im technically not an audio engineer student. So I gotta figure out exactly a "producer" does, and figure out how to apply my creative side, where the passion still resides.
Had some good conversation about music and bands. Ive come to the conclusion that Im not the worlds best guitar player, or vocalist. But I can write good songs, and am good enough to play and sing in a band. Other people who I meet and jam with are going to be better at playing guitar than me, but they may not be able to write a song. The people I make it with are those that will be able to blend our strengths together.
Also met this girl. She was bartending for us. She had a masters in education and threw it all away for her music career. Now she's working three jobs to support herself, but she's making her music career happen. Havent met someone that optimistic and driven in a long time.
One of my friends also got pissed off throughout the discussion and left us there.
