Got questioned by a cops outside Taco Bell. Apparently, the place was being held up like 5 seconds after me and my buddy walked out.
Cop: "What you guys doing?" Me: "Just had lunch, now I'm smoking a cigarette." Cop: "Really because this place just got held up" Takes our I.D.'s and calls them in. He clears our names and shitt Cop: "Sorry about that boys, hope we didn't scare you." Me: "With all the cop stuff I've been reading and seeing and me being brown and all, I was expecting to get shot."
He gives me the biggest WTF face ever ) followed by dead silence...then his partner just burst out laughing ) turns out some employee hit the alarm accidentally while taking a shit.

I would have bitched about it. You were in the area of the crime so yeah you probably need to. It really depends on what state you live in. Federally you do not have to present your ID in most situations unless you are either driving or are in possession of alcohol.
I'm in IL but yeah. I just figured since it was a dangerous situation it would been worse if we refused. Especially with all these trigger happy cops lately.
Question if anyone here knows; Were we legally obligated to show them our I.D.s? They didn't go inside or question anyone else btw.
100% no.... Never show your ID or corporate with those filthy pigs. What you should have done is just said "I aint showing you shit" and then reached around your back like you were going to pull something out from the back of your pants.
