Meshuggah crowd got nasty at Ozzfest. I forget the band that plays before them on the other stage, but they were treated to a "Meshuggah" chant from the other stage that started 30 seconds into their set and didnt stop till Meshuggah started. Usually that shit dies down after a minute or two, but this went on the entire 20 minutes or whatever the other bands set time was.

I don't directly get into the pit, but when I see a band like Gojira or Meshuggah, something feels weird if people arent pushing up to get closer to the stage and there aren't other people moshing. I expect to be pushed around a little when I see those bands and it's a part of the experience. Same thing when I go see punk bands or something. The only reason I prefer no moshing at some shows is because it doesn't make sense to mosh to like funeral doom or post-black metal. But when I go see meshuggah, I'm expecting for the crowd to be rowdy.

That happened to lostprophets at our show
They were there but played earlier. Maybe it was Soil? Dont remember clearly, it was Ozzfest lol. It wasnt that they were a bad band whoever it was, but the crowd was just ready for Meshuggah, and nothing else was going to cut it.
