housecore is beautiful, and given the two lineups already, has one of the most promising festival futures.
between two years they/he landed pig destroyer, corrections house, portal, samhain, subrosa, acid witch, napalm death, macabre, goblin, pallbearer, superjoint ritual, and ehg both years. thats dope.
just a random observation in my life that Ill try to express without sounding like a fedora tipping faggot...
I went to private school from '97-09. in that time, I made my decision about religion and god, and obviously realized that christianity isnt for me. dont get me wrong... a decent portion... maybe even half... of my close friends are catholic. but I look back on those times, in part, by seeing what other people still post on facebook
"praying to the good lord for your health, jeanne!!" "god doesnt give us anything we cant handle!!" "only through jesus christ have I achieved this!!" (graduation, new job, etc)
some of my religious friends and acquaintances have had horrific tragedies befall them, nothing that anyone should deserve, like sudden death of their unborn children, car crashes that total their vehicles and cripple them financially, loss of friends to suicide or drunken driving, etc
and it makes me realize how fleeting our existence is, how 'god' is most clearly not a factor in lives, and how religion is nothing more than a comforting sense of hope. I have seen terrible and completely random acts of horror befall both very religious and non-religious friends. and it has made me realize this over the years. I dont "hate god" because its a rebellious and edgy thing to say/do. I dont believe in this loving god himself, and either way you look at it, even if god does exist, he's a sadistic asshole.
I was asked to leave my world religion class in high school essentially for presenting the argument "what divine grace or justice is there for a rwandan child who is beheaded at two months old?" but only now I realize that their defense came out of fear, because there is no answer.
He has 4 of best death metal bands around in this year's ticket IMO. I been saying for months now Phil should tour a fest. I should start a petition :-?

put it this way... portal, ehg, acid witch, subrosa, corrections house, or samhain roll through here, and Im sold hands down. combine some and tour? get out of town. shut up and take my money.
From an extreme music pov, it's a pretty well rounded set he's put together. Only the Scion fest and MDF have shit that's not a bunch of garbage core or rehashed nu metal. I've always thought Scion should put together a national tour, too. The first one they did in Atlanta is gonna be legendary some day
