"Blood Music is extremely pleased to announce to its roster: Cormorant! One of the most independent bands in all of metal, a true fan-favorite who's released all of their material free of any labels and has been passed endlessly across message boards, blogs, forums, word-of-mouth for seven years straight has finally caved and asked us to do their work justice.
In all reality, this band whose work defies genre intepretation has just released their latest opus "Earth Diver" to huge reaction and came directly to us looking for a label to set their work to wax. We've been listening to the band for several years now and instantly said yes and have made some big plans together.
We've heard the band called "avant garde," "prog rock," "black metal," "melodic death metal," "folk metal," "70s extreme rock," and a billion other things - with vague comparisons to Enslaved, Opeth, and Ne Obliviscaris - but that still doesn't sound quite right. The best thing to do is check these guys out and bask in the unique glory that is Cormorant.
So, be expecting some delectable wax from these guys in '15 and a little more information to be leaked on down the road.

You don't know what coked out is if you've only done one line.

I find it interesting that Ashes Against The Grain is definitely my favorite Agalloch album, yet John Haughm considers it their worst album. Hmph
