Liked one photo by one chick. Almost instantly, I get a text message and a facebook message from her that both just say "Hey!!!!" about a minute apart from each other, maybe less. Wut? <_>
She wants the d
No, she just wanted me to like a picture of her in a dress cuz some other chick said she looks ugly in dresses.
In other news my ex friend bought bud light lime last night :-|
Haha I remember I was at my friends right when that shit came out and his dad told us to not drink any of his beer except the bud light lime... So we did
Bud light lime from urban dictionary: An aborted Carona fetus. Complete mediocrity supported by dudes that secretly want to drink Mike's Hard Lemonade and suck on fluorescent sugary cocks. Flying off store shelves because douchebags have been popping out of vagina's in abundance lately
"Hey, Ted has some Bud Light Lime!"
"Hey, Ted is a fag!"
(meanwhile Ted is running to the bathroom to remove his tampon and listen to Hinder)
loooooooooooool. I thought it was alright the couple times I drank it.
As far as me liking local band covers, eh. If theyre a good band, i'd rather hear another original song than a cover. Coupled with the fact that most covers are the most obvious/overplayed song, i'd leave it rather than take it.
My bandmates just messaged me "hey we need a new cover for our next show" (the one at Reggies in March), and I was like "no. lets focus on writing and prepping our own music" and they were like "no we need a cover because people like hearing covers".
From our experience I feel like it takes away from out music by doing that. I want to start doing shows with no covers, and with playing our VERY BEST (which for some reason my bandmates still insist on playing some older songs that aren't our very best) at shows so that people start to appreciate and get into our original songs. I notice when we play covers the crowd generally becomes disinterested in our own work after the cover happens.... example from last show, got people's attention with first song (original) then went into Raining Blood. "SLLLLAYYYYEEERRRR" and people getting into it ensues, but then after they lose interest when we come back to playing our music.
Now, I understand that that may mean that our music may really not be good, or interesting, but still. I feel like we should focus on highlighting our own music more than some other bands'.
The best covers are the ones people don't even realize are covers. Metallica used to get away with playing shows of mostly covers when they started out because their choices were so obscure that people thought they were originals. As a whole, I think covers are useful for bands to help develop chemistry. I just get annoyed by people who lean on really obvious covers. I used to do open mic at this coffee shop and there were these 2 acts that showed up every week; a goatee wearing tattooed guy that played the same 2 sublime songs and 2 fat kids that played tenacious d. I always thought their pandering was embarrassing
