I'm wearing one month contacts for idk how long now. And I don't have 70 bucks to spend on that right now. I didn't know two week contacts existed. I just knew of the one day, one month and the kind you don't have to take out for a month/ok to sleep in.
Yeah, my two week contacts are 23 dollars for 6 lenses. The doctor said I could stretch them to 3 weeks with no real harm, but to absolutely toss after three weeks. Im going to take her advise as I saw the effects of wearing two week contacts for 3+ months. Also... i didnt ever really clean them at night, and she got on me about that too.
but yeah, I get not having the money for glasses, but you really should save up and look into it. I mean assuming that not going blind is something you want to avoid.
I can't get used to tipping I can never figure out how much to tip and who and when You Muricans be crazy
learntomath. 15 or 20% of the bill is good. i always do 20% because it's easy to calculate. just move the decimal point one spot over to the left and then double that dollar amount. if you're talking about a bar then i just leave the bartender a dollar or the coins i get when i get my change after i get my drink.
It's more the tips for hotel staff getting your bags or your car from the garage etc I struggle with
Yeah I'm pretty sure there's no way you can hurt yourself waiting tables
Being the sole grill worker during a lunch rush because of shitty management is alot shittier than being the sole waiter at a restaurant.
Dude, take it from someone who has been both a frycook and a waiter. Waiting when its busy just flat out sucks because its all about timing. You have to try and juggle 6 or 8 tables - greet them, take their drink order, bring their drinks, take their order, get their order to the cooks, deliver it, ask about dessert, possibly deliver dessert, and clear off the table and clean it after they leave. Not to mention checking on each table multiple times throughout this process.
And the thing is, your performance doesnt affect your pay. If you forget to salt the fries or forget pickles in a burger, nothing happens. At worst you have to remak it. But if you forget someones side of butter or take too long bringing back someones diet coke - boom, no tip.
