1. It's based on your parents' income, nothing else 2. My parents (dad) makes a lot. Probably too much for them to approve. 3. Most of that money is being spent sending my sisters through private high school 4. Very little left over as a result 5. See #1, where the argument starts over

I'll work it out one way or another. I'm not staying on campus another year to get fucked in the ass financially and not even be able to have my car.
When I went to college, they wanted to base my financial aid on my parents income. My parents didnt make a lot (maybe 60k put together), but they were providing zero support to me as I was kicked out and told never to return. Anyways, there was some form I had to fill out that stated that my parents were not a contributor in my life. Im sure your school has something similar. I mean- think of it this way. Say a 35 year old dude wants to go to college. Does it make sense that his income would be based on his parents? Why would you be any different if you are receiving zero support from them?
My girlfriend hasn't seen her dad in almost 13 years. He always says he cant get off work or doesnt have flight money or some other shit. We found out today that he had a 2 hour layover in atlanta yesterday on his way to San Diego for someone else's graduation. He didn't even call or anything.
As a parent, I find it hard to believe any other parent would do that. However my parents did similar shit to me, so I know it happens. I just can't get a handle on how people don't really care for their kids, when I consider how I feel about mine.

What's weird is that I have more of a relationship with him than she does. I actually have kinda been an advocate for him. Amanda's mother is pretty awful as well, and had a son taken away from her prior to Amanda's birth. Since she lost the son, she would pretty much do anything to keep Amanda away from the dad. A lot of what she tells Amanda about her dad is probably bullshit, even in light of current circumstance. So I had kinda started building a bridge with the guy because I thought he might have gotten shafted a little. She needs parental guidance from somewhere and her mother is a complete failure in that department. She usually does more harm. After this, I guess there's no point in trying that route anymore. I'm lucky that my parents make up for hers' deficiency with the kids.
ethics final in two hours. almost positive I'm going to bomb it.
How?
"You see a man choking. He needs the heimlich maneuver to live. It is ethical to:
A) Perform the heimlich maneuver Let him die"
I'm getting really fucking sick of people telling me that that is all that ethics is and it's fucking not. There are a fuckton of different "theories" from different philosophers and then different ways to argue for or against these theories.

I spoke with the director of my complex today and informed him that I'm not receiving any financial support for school from my parents, which is the truth. He said that means I don't have to get a parent essay submitted, and it should be much easier for me to plea my case since I am paying myself through financial aid from the school and have a low-income job.
Related news, checked out my friend's apartment last night and it's fucking cool! It's in a semi-seedy part of Tempe (less than a mile from where I've lived the past few years), but the place itself isn't too bad! I'll take pics and post em.
