It's probably all the research and all the money that you have to pay to the people that have copyrighted that research. And they just want to make a profit.
What I don't understand is what in the world makes a fucking book cost so much?
I read an essay on it in one of my Lit books my first semester. Basically because of selling used books and renting books---the publishers only get paid for the book once, so they jack up the price and update books as often as possible to make them outdated so they can make more money. Makes sense, but sucks for students.
