I feel like shit. Today was the first day in a while that I felt very depressed. I want to be back on my medication, but my mom refuses to let me be. So I just tell her I'm calling my doctor to sort things out. She laughs and says she won't listen to me and that even if she does, she's not paying for it or having it covered.
Nobody is fucking listening and it's getting me sick to my stomach
Just FYI - pretty sure you mom can't stop you from seeing a dr, nor from buying meds he/she prescribes. Insurance is going to pay what insurance pays, and sounds like that is something it will for sure cover. You might have to come up with the copay for the meds (what like 15 bucks) but isnt a whole lot she can do....
on the other hand, I think you should try and sort it out without meds.

My son had his first playoff game last night against the Yankees who they beat twice in the regular season by a run both games. Anyways... Last night my son pitched two scoreless innings, had a double, single, a walk, and scored 2 runs. We lost by 1 run.
Oh and in the last inning we had a man on second/third with one of our better hitters at bat... S.O. damnit.

thats exactly what i said. she cant stop him but she can fuck his life up if he does and goes against her. like when Alex went to the bank to find out himself if he can use his debit card, she almost kicked him out of the house. they like to be in control so much that the flip out once he does something for himself.

well he didnt know the difference between his debit and credit card and his parents said to ONLY use the credit card and to never ever use the debit card he was confused so he sat down with a bank person to find out stuff his parents refuse to tell him

I've seen rents like that. It's pretty easy to feed them the BS they want to hear, do what he wants to do behind their back, and then lie if they confrontz.
alex - "You're right mom. There is probably nothing wrong with me, and im probably not depressed. Thanks for being there and being such a good support. your the best"
mom - "Alex I thought you said you werent going to go to the dr for depression? Im going to cut you off" alex - "mom I wouldnt do that... we already agreed I am not depressed. I went to the dr because I had a cold. it was pretty bad. he prescribed some cold meds and im doing better"

suck up and lie is his only option. as long as he wants to take their money anyways.
Correct me if I am but if he is in college and under their insurance can't the parents pull whatever info they want. I don't think he is considered independent yet

I was under the belief that once you turned 18 then your records are not disclosed to anyone but yourself. I know I couldnt request my wife's medical records even though she is on my insurance. I could be wrong though....

Sometimes in your life, you see people who are doing things you could do. Maybe not just this instant, but certainly with a single day's worth of training. Except they're making millions and millions of dollars for doing it, and enjoying the adoration of as many people. But if you did the same thing, nobody would notice or give you money.
Other times in your life, you see people who are doing things very very badly. Things you spent a large part of your life perfecting. And you know, by any objective standard, you are better in every respect than them (at that talent), and have been for a very long time. And yet still, they are the ones making millions and millions of dollars, and you are working at McDonald's, eating ramen and dumpster diving to get by.
You see these people doing this thing so poorly, and you hate them. It doesn't make sense at first, so you say it's because they make bad music. But that doesn't really make sense. So what if they make bad music? So you make some references to some movie about how everyone's an idiot in the future, and claim that these people are somehow the catalyst of this highly suspect scenario.
But really the reason you'll hate them is because deep down you know you'd trade your "integrity" and your "principles" in a nanosecond if it meant you got to live the life that they drunkenly stumbled onto. But you will almost certainly never have that chance. It's not Nickelback you'll hate, not really. It's the cruel wheel of fate that determines all of our destinies at random, giving millions and millions of dollars to idiots who then tell you "WORK HARD AND YOU'LL MAKE IT!" But you know that's not true. You know the best you'll ever experience is a middle class retirement during which you'll be far too debilitated by age, the years of stress, and the toll they take to enjoy it.
But nobody wants to think about this. So they made a shorthand for all of it, something quick so they could vent it all out without going down that road every time they're reminded of someone's unfathomable success at being so incredibly mediocre and the implications it entails. "Fuck them. Those guys suck."
And someday, you'll do it too, son. Someday, you'll do it too.

Under HIPPA he is protected from his parents having access to this information even if they have him under the insurance, he seeks his own treatment (at 18 you don't need your parents permission to seek any type of treatment), signs consent form and HIPPA regulation paper work, with these forms he should be able to limit access to these records to anyone other than other doctors that may need to have this information for further treatment and insurance companies for billing. He can refuse to allow his parents access... this could potential pose problems with them if they feel they have the right to this info and find out they can't get access because their 18 year old son feels they don't have the right to it.
