I’m probably the only one bothered by him coming. Watch Miami who is last get the last spot in the playoffs face cincy and out them because they have the best player in the world all of sudden.
You tryin to be a hero fool? You wanna see badass mother fucker?! I'll show ya a badass!!!
At first that was my thought cincy finally breaking records and have an awesome team just to have the worst team in the league handed this dude.
Then it turned into it seems kind of shady by the MLS the way this was done breaking their own rules and doing weird deals to make it so he is getting paid well enough.
Now it’s all I ever fucking see. And it’s not the fan base that’s been there it’s celebs like the kardasians showing up out of no where since it’s something to be seen at. Seems like MLS is fixing to run it into the ground like F1 has done and eventually most of the fans will be priced out.
Miami is also a gifted team to Beckham for playing in the league when he did. They didn’t have the massive buy in that every other team has had. Miami getting everything for nothing.
Cool for people to be able to see the best player in the world but I feel like it’s being looked at through rose colored glasses instead of seeing some things aren’t making sense when it comes to money and MLS rules.
You tryin to be a hero fool? You wanna see badass mother fucker?! I'll show ya a badass!!!
So, first off I completely get your frustration, cause I feel the same way at times.
The fact of the matter is though, MLS is not a top tier league, and soccer is not all that popular in the states. Messi coming to MLS means that both of those aspects improve. Sure, there's plenty of plastics that won't give a fuck after he leaves, but a portion will stay. Beckham helped the league when he came in, and Messi helps even more. I want this league to grow, and this helps that.
Messi fanboys are annoying as fuck, straight up. But, I can't help but be happy that more eyes are on this league now, and I feel that it'll help in the long run.
Now take that way you may feel frustrated and have your team finally doing good just to most likely get fucked over by this. We are already being over looked still haven’t lost a game at home all year whether in MLS, cup, or leagues. But yay Messi Messi messi.
Even if I put that to the side with the bias regarding my team shit is too much it’s non stop multiple posts a day and it’s all just people that want to be seen buying up these tickets. I just hope it doesn’t fuck up MLS in the end I can’t help but relate it to F1 and shit is stupid there right now for fans
You tryin to be a hero fool? You wanna see badass mother fucker?! I'll show ya a badass!!!
That was the most toxic MLS game I've ever been to. The fans hated each other and it was fun as hell. A couple fights happened and I got to see the 🐐 score two. Yeah that shit lives up to the hype.
It amazes me how many people don’t know you can’t wear opposing colors in a supporters section. They get escorted out every game for FCC.
This guy in front of us had a Barcelona hat on and was openly cheering for Messi. I eventually told him that this is our section to which he responded by saying he's a season ticket holder and can "prove it". The guy couldn't understand why I said that makes it so much worse. So fucking annoying that people wouldn't even support their home team.
Like, I'm a massive supporter of the Premier League club Everton, but if they ever played FC Dallas, all bets are off for that game. Home team comes first.
Didn’t intend for this to be long. TLDR: I’ve kind of checked out from caring other than insufferable announcer.
I almost didn’t watch the game to be honest I’m so sick of hearing about Messi.
I ended up turning it on a half hour in after I got dinner made for me and the kids but I didn’t really watch with a care of what happened as everything feels like a forgone conclusion now. Miami is going to win everything in front of them and the MLS will Dick ride all the way through.
Some thoughts about it with trying to be as unbiased or without annoyance as possible.
The cincy crowd was good and didn’t Dick ride like I thought they would. They always do a sucks chant after every player is announced and people were actually discussing not doing it to Messi. So to hear they did that and hear the boos during Pk was good. Treat him like every other player
match was good but our coach was who blew it subbing everyone out I hate going on the defensive in any sport like that it always feels like it comes out bad and it burned them
I told several friends there will be a moment where fcc is star struck and it may cost them and it did. Goal two the subs pulled up and just stood there watching him kick couldn’t make it easier on him not discounting his assist it was fantastic but fcc didn’t do anything to stop it.
Seemed like a good showing for MLS but I still feel where everyone that says this will help MLS that it will end up hurting it in the long wrong. Best player in the world shows up to worst team wins everything and makes MLS look like the joke it’s always been mentioned as. This doesn’t work if it’s not competitive.
I don’t know what broadcast you guys saw but it was miserable to watch on my end even up two goals the one announcer Dick riding Messi so hard and when it looked like they may actually lose they were making excuses about being tired instead of talking about fcc playing well. After the second goal Dick rider almost passed out from his 15 straight minutes of trying to come up with every adjective imaginable to describe dudes greatness.

dude has been on a rampage every game this season

I'm also legit pissed they couldn't pull it off
