Shows by yourself suck, man. Did it once and it was horrible. Much more fun going with my crew. I think its cool going with a smaller group of people. Its usually me and my group of 4 buddies that I've known forever. Too much people can be as bad as alone though. We went to Mayhem with an obnoxiously large group once and it wasn't til we split off that it got funner.
I either go alone or go with this one elitist friend. Most of my other friends have never heard of the bands I see. Girlfriend is going to Mastojira with me. That'll be nice
it helps that you like pop-punk and some of the metal bands that play. 2012 had enough decent bands, but i'd be bummed if I went to warped this year.
The only bands that played this year whose music I legitimately listen too were ETID, Less Than Jake, Four Year Strong, Bayside, and Stray From The Path. I went to photograph the festival, and I picked someone of the more well known and up and coming bands such as Parkway Drive, Yellowcard, Mixtapes and Neck Deep, all of which were solid. The only bands that flat out bored the shit out of me were TDWP and Volumes.
I will agree in saying 2012 had a much, much better lineup, hell, even last year had TBDM, Stick to your guns, reel big fish, uabb, letlive(givezafuk), and a couple others that made it somewhat worthwhile.
It might be because I just enjoy shooting shows in general, that plus getting in free helped me enjoy this year a little more, i guess.
Smoked with them the past two times they were here, except the vocalist who claims he only vapes on tour. It's not like he's got a golden voice he needs to protect lol. Still some great shit to jam to. Not exactly a fan of Jet Pack Soundtrack yet though, shit was a little different.
