just heard Manowar is playing the Concord Theater next month lookedit up $125 and up for tix, never even heard of the venue ??? they cancel every time we buy tix for them
review for the venue says security is assholes. hmmm.
I thought it sold out but I guess its not. Tics are actually 82 after fees if that means anything which is on par for a Manowar ticket.
Concord used to be a mexican dance club called V-Live. Its down the block from the now shut down Congress and also closed down Ultra Lounge. Its not really that bad, but its not close to being a prefered venue in Chicago.
Well, now the Concord is shut down too...
so glad this happenend the night before instead of during Manowar.
CHICAGO — Three men were taken to local hospitals after part of a Logan Square nightclub's ceiling fell early Saturday morning, and city officials say vibrations from the music likely caused the damage.
A two-by-three section of plaster fell on the crowd while DJ Datsik, a dubstep DJ famous for his bass heavy production, performed his set at the Concord Music Hall, 2047 N. Milwaukee Ave. That same heavy bass likely caused the ceiling to fall, a structural engineer hired by the venue determined.
Concord Music Hall released this statement Saturday morning:
"Concord Music Hall has voluntarily agreed to close until further notice due to a section of plaster falling from its ceiling during a show last night. During this time, Concord will fully cooperate with all City of Chicago officials to ensure that there are no ongoing concerns for the safety of its patrons and its employees."

The venue will remain closed until it can pass a city inspection, Simon said.
Representatives from the venue said they would release news about future events later in the day. Metal band MANOWAR was scheduled to play a concert Saturday night; the show was moved to the Logan Square Auditorium, the band said on Twitter.
That's good news for Tim Burgin, 47, who set up shop in front of the Concord as a light snow collected on his lawn chair Saturday afternoon.
"Until I hear it from the band on Twitter. I don't move," said Burgin, a Lincoln Square resident. "I'm staying here until I hear otherwise. I got no problem standing in the snow for hours to see these guys."
That manowar show was some terrible shit on manowars end. Concord is a small venue to begin with. Wasnt sold out but roof collapsed the night before the show. Almost gets cancelled but they move it to near by venue which is essentially like a school auditorium which is about equal in capacity.. Little did anyone here know that manowar cancelled their show before chicago in michigan and told fans from michigan that if they drove to chicago, theyd give them $200 worth of merch plus free admission.. Needless to say enough michigan people came and some chicago fans with pre bought tixs were left in the snow/cold with nothing more than a "sorry" from the band. The band hasnt addressed it publicly nor offered anything to those they fucked over here.
Theyre playing here in November. We shall see if they compensate the people they fucked with their stupid offer.
