Im goin up for about a month and i wanted to know about concert venues and basically stuff that will keep an 18 year old entertained. I went for a couple days over spring break and it was awesome.

House of Blues - across the street (Tremont) from Fenway park. If you are coming up in June Gwar and Danzig are both playing there mid to late June
Paradise - Comm Ave Boston - small venue - occasional good show rolls thru there
Middle East - Cambridge - a bit dumpy, but some good club shows are here
Td Garden - bigger venue for concerts
Bank of America Pavillion - medium size concerts - saw the lineup, nothing impressive, but good place to see a show because right on the waterfront
Fenway Park if you like baseball
South of Boston (where i live)
Showcase Live in Foxboro - nice newer club
Club Whiplash in Stoughton - very small club that just started up - tough to find lineup info on this place, but they do have some good shows of Boston area metal bands
Memorial Hall - Plymouth - had good shows last year, but this year just cover bands so far
Comcast Center - Mansfield - good outdoor venue for bigger shows, in the middle of the woods (used to be called great woods)
Club Hell - Providence
Other venues you might be interested in:
Worcester Palladium - about an hour drive west of Boston
Lowell Tsongas Arena - about a 45 minute drive north of Boston
Im lookin forward to boston, im probably gonna be moving there in a year or two.
