Just got as I lay dying off iTunes on my phone. Just off the first two songs my jaw has dropped. They started to soften up a bit last cd then they release this on it smashes me in the face on the first song. Usually bands seem like they continue softening up to me but as I lay dying said fuck that, sorry I mean freak that they're christian they don't say naughty words.
You tryin to be a hero fool? You wanna see badass mother fucker?! I'll show ya a badass!!!

I really liked An Ocean Between Us, but I think this release sucked. It'll be interesting when I relisten to An Ocean Between Us and see if it was just the me from one or two years ago that liked it or if I actually like it.

Hipa really has progressed into quite the guitarist if you ask me. I think they did okay with the songwriting on this album. The production sucked though if you ask me. This should be the last Adam D produced effort from them.
How indeed does the production suck? Hell the first leak to me sounds damn good. AOBU sounds much more cleaner and a much more commercial sound to me. This album is just a kick in the balls from the opening riff to the final chord and never lets up.

C'mon man, this isn't Gin.
Those vocals are way overproduced on both sides, which is the most important part of any metalcore album. The songwriting isn't good enough to save the terrible production on that album.
Lambesis should just produce the albums from now on. He did an amazing job with AOBU and an even better job with Austrian Death Machine. He didn't produce on this album which could be why it was meh. The album though is still great to me.
You think it's going to place higher on the chart than AOBU did?
IMO! I think more of the metalheads will like them for this album. Hardly any clean singing(cause it's "pussy") and great solos with drumming. Its really heavy and thrashy on some songs.

The songs just are messes if you ask me. I can listen to Dopesmoker for hours on repeat, but I get bored listening to the few minutes that is Beyond Our Suffering.
Have you listen to the whole album besides that song? I don't think it's fair basing a whole album off one song. Jaycup was doing the same thing and I made his bitch ass listen to the whole thing. Now he likes it.

First time, I listened to 5 or 6 songs then couldn't listen more. After a guy on metalsetlists told me to do it again, I listened to the whole thing, was bored about 5 minutes into it but kept going. I didn't like it.

Hang out with them and you will be shocked. They are Christians, but they are not the hardcore kind. They are fun as hell to chill with.
You don't like as I lay dying wine?
He does...just not the new album >:(
Parallels didn't work so now I have to send a mean email to itunes

I'll be honest. I didn't like ADM as a band, but they did a great production job for that album. They were really funny live too.
Also marc, Adam D produced AOBU
